Shut the door and try to lock it.

The lock on a push button knob is meant strictly for household privacy.
Check to see that the door striker the spring loaded bolt that latches the door pushes in and springs back easily.
Tap the end of a chisel under the door stop on the striker side of the jamb.
If the storm door still won t latch properly there is a chance that the latch is fine and the problem is with the door frame.
Pry up on it until it comes loose and remove it.
If it won t lock open the door.
