Make sure to slide the tab as close to the hinge side of the door as possible to ensure this is not what is holding your door open.
Just be patient and work it loose gently.
This also includes any screws or hardware that is keeping the top of the door attached to spindle.
If the metal trim and the rubber boot have come off too far to tap back on first tap the metal trim off the glass.
If the glass has been there for many years it can be tricky.
Think of it like a blind with a spring pulling it up without this spring it will not go up.
The screen is not removeable and the glass in front of it is filthy and i can t clean it.
It should hold the window pane closed even with no spacers.

Continue with the screwdriver buy loosening the screws at the very top where the screen and spindle is located.
I have a storm door fixed glass on top fixed screen on bottom and glass that slides up and down in front of the screen or behind it depending on where you stand.
Pull down on the glass and it should slide out.
It s possible warm air from the house is leaking past the main door and hittng the storm door causing condensation.
Push up on the upper glass until it moves about 1 2 inch up into the door frame then pull the bottom of the glass out a little toward you.
If your screen allows the glass frame to slide to the bottom then there is not enough tension upwards to hold the window pane in a closed position.

Try repositioning the door stop mechanism on your storm door s pneumatic closer.
Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws at the top where the screen and glass meet.
Check for a loose door frame.
To be safe take the top glass off the track to prevent it from breaking.
May need to replace or install weatherstripping to prevent warm air from escaping towards the outside.
Slide the window down so you can access the top of it.
You need to check the weatherstripping on the main door.
The top tab of the spring should sit on the top of the window jamb.
Remove the screen from the door.
Gently tap the metal trim back in place with a rubber mallet.
